Dog owners should always remain attentive when pets are around water, as curiosity may get the best of them. It’s also important to watch for any signs of distress, injury or drowning as some dogs will overexert themselves. Another thing to keep in mind is that although some animals love the water — especially certain breeds of dogs such as Retrievers and Spaniels — not all pets want to jump in and swim. An animal that’s scared or uncomfortable should never be forced into water. For more information, check out the below graphic.
